Our Process

WLC collaborates with architects, builders and designers to craft custom cabinetry and millwork for their clients.

We take pride in the process of crafting our product, ensuring precision and care goes into every piece created in our shop. When we start a project, we view it as becoming part of a team. We want to work with you to create a quality product.

Shop Drawings

We start each project with creating shop drawings. All shop drawings are created using on-site measurements taken by a WLC team member, typically the owner, Walter Lane. Our drawings are drafted and sent for approval. They are the first step in our collaborative process, ensuring that the finished product is what the client is looking for.

Once these are approved, we can begin crafting the components for the project.

Crafting

Our craftspeople are held to a high standard and are expected to maintain a quality first mindset. This mindset helps us ensure that we employ true craftspeople and finish carpenters. We start production by inputting our shop drawings into our manufacturing software. This keeps us organized and on task. We delegate to our craftspeople and they start building the pieces.

Once they are completed, we move on to the installation phase of the project.

Installing

This part of the project is where all the hard prep work and precise crafting pays off. Our installers are seasoned and practiced individuals. We install our finished products into the homes of our clients with care and precision so that by the time we are done, it looks like it has been there forever.
